Talgo Inc. is seeking a Blasting Technician with at least 2 years of experience, for an exciting job opportunity working on Trains! Job Summary: Our company is currently seeking a skilled blasting technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cleaning surfaces by blasting them with various types of abrasive materials such as sand, glass beads, and aluminum oxide. The blasting technician will also be responsible for ensuring that all safety guidelines and procedures are followed. Key Responsibilities: Operate blasting equipment to clean and prepare surfaces for painting or coating Mix and adjust the air and abrasive flow in the blasting machine Load and unload materials to be blasted. Clean and maintain the blasting equipment and related tools Follow all safety guidelines and procedures while working with the blasting equipment Communicate with supervisors and team members regarding work progress and any issues that may arise Keep the work area clean and organized Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent Previous experience in blasting or related field preferred Knowledge of the different types of abrasive materials and how to properly use them Familiarity with blasting equipment and tools Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics Strong attention to detail and safety procedures Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment Good communication skills Physical ability to lift heavy materials and work in various positions for extended periods of time Other important qualifications: Must be able to take and pass a pre-employment drug test We pay 100% Health Benefits for the employee, 50% for dependents, 401K with company match and a great time off policy.
