Data Analyst - SWSC Support
Purpose:


  • Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate need for a Data Analyst who will be a key support to the Training Management Department (N9) at the Surface Warfare Schools Command (SWSC) in Newport, RI.


Job Description:


  • Perform the data collection, analysis and preparation of Instructor Computation (ICOMP) Models, POM submissions, issue papers, and briefing material, using Navy Training Management corporate database systems, such as CeTARS and FLTMPS.
  • Research and analyze data to detect trends, perform surge analyses, as well as summarize findings, draw conclusions and develop presentations to support various training metrics for SWSC N9 data calls and SWTC conferences.
  • Assists in the SWSC annual Student Input Planning (SIP) process, to include:

    • Data collection, analysis, calculation and projection of student training requirements for Demand Signal Planning (DSP)
    • Identify and prioritize instructor billets, training devices and facility requirements, and capacity determinations during annual Feasibility Study (FS)


  • Review Navy Training System Program documents for accuracy, document and submit recommendations for corrections.


Qualifications:


  • Must have a High School diploma and at least 3 years' experience reviewing and evaluating Navy Training Management corporate database systems such as CeTARS and FLTMPS.
  • Must have expertise level knowledge and experience in Microsoft Excel and building complex workbooks using advanced formulas and functions.


Desired Qualifications:


  • Experience as a former Navy Instructor preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated experience in the annual review of training requirements in support of the Program Objective Memorandum process, preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Navy training processes and documentation, such as NTSPs, Training Project Plans, Navy ship fielding plans, Officer Billet Specialty Training documents, preferred.


Security Requirements:


  • Must have an Active DoD Secret clearance and the ability to maintain that clearance.


Travel Requirements:


  • Occasional Travel- less than 10%
  • If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (no later than position start date) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirements:


  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
  • Communicating with others to exchange information and repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
  • Subject to outside environmental conditions (extreme cold/heat), subject to noise, vibration, hazards, atmospheric conditions (affect the respiratory system), frequently work in close quarters and/or function in narrow aisles or passageways (areas that could cause claustrophobia).

Pay Range: $75,000 - $90,000 per year
