Structural Engineer

A Structural Engineer job is currently available at Belcan in Windsor, CT. This is a full-time direct job with benefits. Great matching candidates will need a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering. In this role, you will conduct structural analyses of a wide variety of component designs utilizing advanced analytical and CAD tools. This includes turbo machinery components, mechanical systems & controls, and tooling & instrumentation for commercial and military jet engines.

Structural Engineer job duties:
* Perform structural analyses using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and post-process results
* Provide technical recommendations for optimizing hardware designs and modeling approach
* Review structural test plans and reports
* Create and present substantiation documentation of analysis results
* Support data acquisition/ reduction of hardware vibration environment measurements
* Support hardware certification testing
* Review non-conformance/ damage reports
* Interface with customers, hardware suppliers, and participate in design reviews / trade studies

Requirements:
* BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or Aeronautical Engineering
* At least two years experience in structural engineering in Aerospace Industry
* Gas turbine experience
* Experience using FEA software ANSYS APDL & Workbench and/or NX Simulation
* Strong communication and presentation skills
* Ability to plan tasks and insure delivery on time, on budget with technical excellence
* High proficiency with Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint
* Due to the nature of our work *US CITIZENSHIP IS REQUIRED*

* Strong understanding of Structural fundamentals (Strength, LCF, HCF, TMF, Fracture, Creep)
* Create macros to automate analyses using ANSYS APDL and other relevant computer languages
* Secret Clearance

Compensation:
We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary rate of $65,000 to $100,000 however, Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
