Description
Are you interested in developing advanced modeling and simulation tools used to evaluate the performance of strategic missile systems and hypersonic vehicles? Are you passionate about developing technologies for the next generation of national defense? Do you enjoy solving exciting problems with a diverse team in a dynamic environment? If so, we are seeking an engineer to help us develop modeling and simulation tools, including 3 Degree of Freedom (DoF) and 6DoF simulations, and interface with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) test environments, for strategic flight systems. You will join a talented and diverse team of engineers in the Flight Systems Performance group in the Force Projection Sector who work on a wide range of exciting challenges and technologies for various government sponsors like the US Navy and US Air Force. As a member of the team, you will use high-fidelity models to perform trade studies and performance assessments, trajectory optimization, and assist in the development of missile models and simulations, including interfacing with HWIL test configurations. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level with consideration for internal parity. For salaried employees scheduled to work less than 40 hours per week, annual salary will be prorated based on the number of hours worked. APL may offer bonuses or other forms of compensation per internal policy and/or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be provided in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, locality allowance or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
