What you'll do

Are you ready to take on new challenges? We are seeking a driven and curious individual to join our team in the government space sector! The ideal candidate for this role will be a great collaborator, willing to learn, and able to use their supply chain knowledge to get going quickly.

As a Viasat Supply Chain Intern, you will work closely with external suppliers and internal cross-functional partners in Supply Chain, Program Management, Engineering, Legal, Finance and more to ensure achievement of initiatives on critical Government program(s).


The day-to-day

  • Manage full procurement lifecycle of assigned programs (quoting, buying, monitoring)
  • Sourcing/Procurement focal point for assigned programs
  • Compliance with FAR/DFAR Requirements

Internship Program Details:

  • You will work onsite at a Viasat office location for the duration of your 12-13 week internship. Viasat embraces a flexible work environment and onsite/hybrid work is determined by individual roles and teams.
  • Housing and relocation assistance are available to interns pending eligibility.
  • To ensure equity across our intern population, intern compensation is pre-determined based on a variety of factors including: role, location, and final graduation date. Intern compensation is non-negotiable.

What you'll need

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Business or related field
  • To be eligible for this position your final graduation date must fall between December 2025 and June 2026
  • Skilled user of Microsoft Office suite of business software is required: Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills, including verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Project experience related to Supply Chain
  • This role requires US Citizenship

Internship Dates:

  • You must be available for the full duration of the 12-13 week internship program. Note limited exceptions may be granted. Viasat offers two options based on semester and quarter academic calendars:
    • Cohort 1: May 20th, 2025 - August 15th, 2025
    • Cohort 2: June 17th, 2025 - September 12th, 2025

What will help you on the job

  • Exposure to ERP or MRP tools, such as Oracle, SAP, and others
  • Working knowledge of data analytics or business intelligence tools such as Tableau
  • Internship or work experience in procurement

Salary range

$20.91 - $56.97 / hourly.
For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $25.96 - $67.07/ hourly
