The candidate will be responsible for development and integration of specified hardware applications in support of Operational and Developmental Test events for the Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve Command Test Center (AATC) in Tucson, AZ.

Responsibilities

As a part-time Senior Aircraft Hardware Integration Developer with MTSI, you will be responsible for development and integration of specified hardware applications in support of Operational and Developmental Test events for the Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve Command Test Center (AATC) in Tucson, AZ.

Primary responsibilities are to:

  • Work with ANG/AFRC and Joint Program Office (JPO) / System Program Office (SPO) representatives to determine optimized path forward for future aircraft modifications. The first effort will coordinate with F-35 JPO personnel for the F-35 aircraft.
  • Develop modification packages for ANG/AFRC aircraft, as desired, for temporary and permanent modifications. The first effort will including USB port and other F-35 modifications. This will include;

    • Work with F-35 JPO representatives to participate in the Advanced Change Study Notice (ACSN) and Operational Test Release (OTR) processes to facilitate modification approvals.

  • Enable Long-term knowledge transfer - identifying and mentoring follow-on engineering support for future modifications.
  • Support and develop engagement parameters with range groups and modification facilities (for example Eglin Air Force Base) for implementation support.

  • Directly interface with high-level government leaders, program offices, and industry vendors to advise and keep them abreast of latest technical and integration development as the candidate will be responsible for both conceptual and technical implementation of required hardware architecture, along with the efforts of the applicable JPO/SPO.
  • Operate in multidisciplinary teams of industry, government and military personnel consisting of engineers, analysts, scientists, pilots and other aircrew.

  • Directly support AATC in the development of advanced combat systems from cradle to grave in an independent, high-energy environment, will operate in multidisciplinary teams, and must have a can-do attitude, self-starting, ambitious, and hard-working.

  • Initial tasking is expected to consume ~10 hrs/week for a 3-month period.


Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years' of experience in USAF program and/or acquisitions offices.
  • Have minimum 15 years of experience supporting modifications and integration efforts for aircraft systems to include flight controls, power, and electrical systems.
  • Strong background in USAF fighter systems.
  • Extensive experience in operational/developmental test processes.
  • Extensive background in classified special access programs and procedures.
  • Strong desire to learn new systems and propose new ideas for aircraft subsystems design.
  • Must have a strong ability to work in a team environment with demonstrated leadership and customer interface skills.
  • Should have good analytic skills and be capable of operating in a multi-tasking environment.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Must have a valid driver's license with an insurable driving record.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in technical discipline is required, preferably in aeronautical engineering or electrical engineering.
  • Master's degree in a similar technical discipline, Desired.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Active SECRET security clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.

Travel Requirements:

  • Travel in this position is less than 5%.
