THE JOB:

The Director of Horticulture Operations is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of interior and exterior landscape displays, grounds maintenance, and related facilities operations. This role ensures that all activities are performed in alignment with departmental standards, property guidelines, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, while upholding the highest levels of safety, quality, and sustainability.

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

  • The Director of Horticulture Operations oversees the planning, design, and execution of initiatives and projects across all properties, driving strategic decision-making and capital improvement recommendations.

  • This role involves researching industry trends to ensure innovative and best-in-class results, managing budgets, financial performance, and vendor contracts to optimize costs and efficiency.

  • The Director leads the design and procurement of materials for new and existing projects, including landscape layouts and site inspections, while fostering a positive work environment that emphasizes teamwork, professional development, and diversity.

  • They maintain collaborative relationships with stakeholders and property leadership, coach and mentor team members, and ensure operational excellence across all Las Vegas properties.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • The ideal candidate for the Director of Horticulture Operations role holds a bachelor's degree or has equivalent experience, with at least four years of prior relevant experience in managing large-scale horticulture or related operations. They possess a strong business mindset and a proven track record of leading large, diverse teams while fostering a culture of service excellence.

  • The candidate demonstrates expertise in navigating union environments and collective bargaining agreements (CBA) and is skilled in revamping processes to improve efficiency and drive performance. They excel at building and maintaining strong supplier and vendor relationships and have a deep understanding of climate considerations to support sustainable and effective operations.

  • With technical proficiency in horticultural design, maintenance, and innovation, they are natural problem solvers who can identify challenges and implement practical solutions. This candidate is results-driven, collaborative, and capable of delivering operational excellence while balancing strategic goals with day-to-day demands.
