How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

Meet or exceed the company's safety standards

* Comply with E&C Global and Local engineering standards and other industry standards

* Participate and develop the Design Basis and Solution for proposals
* Perform aero dynamics and process calculations to better integrate them in complex cryogenic process schemes,
* Utilize global standards to develop mechanical design, Computer Fluid Dynamics (CFD), mechanical and modal analyses (FEA), etc...
* P&IDs for projects or proposals
* Generate technical deliverables
* Attend and contribute to Design Review meetings
* Implement capitalization from previous projects / commissioning issues
* Participate in Local and E&C's Global Development effort
* Work on new upgrades for TESS (Turbo Expander Sizing Software)

  • Preparing equipment sizing sheet to support the estimation effort during proposal

  • Determining the Turbomachine's performance (productions - utilities consumption - efficiency)

  • Work closely with Mechanical Design Engineer

  • Establishing Process Flow Diagram's (PFD), material/heat balances

  • Sizing main equipment, pipes, valves, relief valves and flow-meters

  • Participating in Design Reviews (Process Design Basis meeting, PFD review, PID review, HAZOP)

  • Assessing technical offers for main equipment

  • Reviewing the information pertaining to process on the drawings/sketches

  • Writing performance test protocols.

  • Taking part in the elaboration of the operating manual of the unit

  • Supporting the in house test, and analysis of tests results

  • Time to time commissioning, start-up and performance test of the plants and the operators training

  • Studying patents

Are you a MATCH?
  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Bachelor's in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, Master's preferred

  • Preferably 2+ years' experience in the Turbo-Expander System Engineering, Manufacturing Environment and Designing Rotating Equipment

  • Very good written and verbal communications skills. Coordination between the Project, Proposals, Estimation, Sales and Process & Systems Departments as well as the various disciplines are key to the success of this position.

  • Very good technical writing ability for reports with supporting data and references

  • Good understanding of various equipment/ instrumentation used in Cryogenic plants

  • Very good problem solving skills: Will be called upon to take independent decisions.

  • Asset to hold EIT (Engineer In Training) or PE (Professional Engineer) license

  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, work independently and partly from home.

  • Short term travel locally (Houston) or internationally (mainly France) is possible depending on the assigned work tasks

  • Notion of French language is an asset

The annual base salary range for this position in California is $108,000 - $120,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Air Liquide considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
