Responsibilities & Qualifications

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Technical Leadership

  • Oversee performance of complex design.
  • Direct, train, and mentor team members on the various facets of water infrastructure.
  • Attend and participate in industry-related conferences and events.

Project Management

  • Provide project management and interface with clients.
  • Manage the development of production work plans.
  • Experience working and collaborating with contractor.
  • Lead project execution for successful project delivery and client satisfaction, including financial management, resource management, change-order management, and client invoicing.
  • Provide leadership to multi-disciplinary project teams, including subconsultants.
  • Serves as a senior design engineer and provide mentorship to junior engineers on the team.
  • Guide the team to establish consistency and quality assurance processes in the production of all deliverables and manage the quality control of all submission materials.

Business Development

  • Work with the Water Sector Manager to develop and execute the strategic plan.
  • Build and maintain key relationships with clients and industry organizations to pursue opportunities and grow the business.
  • Promote technical practices, innovation sharing and knowledge management.
  • Collaborate regionally, nationally and internationally on water pursuits, including programs, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Participate in business development and identify and follow through on strategic opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS (INCLUDING EDUCATION and/or JOB EXPERIENCE):

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the District of Columbia (or ability to obtain) with 15+ years of design experience, including large underground infrastructure projects such as sewer rehabilitation and CSO systems.
  • Experience with trenchless rehabilitation of large diameter sanitary and combined sewers such as geopolymer, slip-lining, spiral wound, shotcrete and glass-reinforced plastic.
  • Experience with construction management at risk and progressive design-build required.
  • Relevant experience includes working on $150-$200M design projects, construction involvement, and a strong foundation in design principles.
