As a Manager of Data Engineering, you will help ensure the satisfaction of our users by leading and mentoring a team of data engineers in developing relational and non-relational databases, data integrations, interfaces, and transformations. You will provide tactical direction and management of tasks, working as a servant-leader to remove roadblocks and enable the team. You will work with team members to help them achieve their growth goals and help drive exceptional employee engagement. To empower the team, you will utilize your strong technical understanding of relational and non-relational databases, AWS, APIs, and scripting languages.

How will you make an impact?
  • Lead and manage a team of data engineers - Responsible for conducting one-on-ones, goal setting, and performance reviews.

  • Oversee the development and maintenance of our organization's data infrastructure - Responsible for completing sprint planning and assigning tasks.

  • Participate in solutions for data engineering needs - Participate in solution architecture forums, and CAB meetings, and contribute to the design and architecture of data engineering tasks

  • Technical Documentation - Create and maintain documentation and job aids for recurring tasks and technical standards.

  • Participate in upgrades to systems in production and performance and load testing efforts - Work with the operations team to upgrade outdated applications, systems, and servers. Participate in the planning for future upgrades and maintenance. Participate in performance and load-testing efforts

What will you bring to the role?

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience

  • Minimum Experience of Related Work: 8-10 years of related work experience

  • Minimum Supervisory or Subject Matter Expertise: 1-3 years of supervisory experience

  • Understanding of AWS, AWS Glue, AWS DMS, and RDBMS.

  • Knowledge of development languages such as Java, Python, and SQL. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Snowflake, Postgres, Erwin, AWS Appflow, AWS Lambda, AWS CFT, AWS S3.

  • Certifications/Specialized Skills: AWS Certifications preferred

Remote Work Eligibility

This position is eligible for remote work in the contiguous US

Compensation Grade Range and Mid-Point

Grade Range:$124,500.00 - $231,300.00/ Grade Mid-Point:$177,900.00

The above annual compensation range and mid-point are general guidelines. For candidates who meet the criteria, the AAMC's compensation philosophy is to target the midpoint of the salary range. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate's work experience, education and training, as well as internal equity, market, and business considerations.

If a bachelor's degree is required, related work experience may be substituted in some positions. One year of college course work at an accredited institution is equivalent to one year of related work experience.
