Engineer III - Field Engineer

Location: 23461 30th Avenue, S. Kent, WA, 98032

Duties:Perform civil engineering duties to ensure contractor's work adheres to approved design and construction related submittals, contract documents and project requirements. Perform regular field visits to active construction sites, complying with all relevant safety procedures. Verify daily construction activities. Produce daily field reports including photographs to document progress. Assist with constructability reviews, including review of Contractor's Construction Work Plan and test results for compliance. Perform field oversight review of contractor's activities for compliance with construction quality procedures. Assist with the identification and resolution of non-compliant activities. Provide field support to the construction engineer with the review of contractor's progress payments. Monitor the contractor's adherence to the project schedule and proactively identify and report schedule challenges. Support the construction engineer and construction manager in developing punch lists and determining Final Project Acceptance. Liaise with the contractor, client representatives, and third parties. Respond to project inquiries and attend design and progress meetings as required. Assist with the documentation and resolution of non-compliant construction activities.

Requirements: Requires a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Structural Engineering, or a related field plus three years of experience as an Engineer, or related occupation involving experience in construction inspection or field oversight.

Experience may be gained concurrently and must include:

Three (3) years in each of the following:



  • Performing oversight of facilities, structures, and civil construction
  • Reviewing construction work to ensure compliance with design and construction related submittals, contract documents and project requirements
  • Writing daily field reports to document construction activities.



Two (2) years in each of the following:



  • Monitoring and reporting on construction progress compared to the schedule
  • Conducting Construction Work Plan Reviews.



One (1) year in each of the following:



  • Reviewing contractor's progress payment applications and providing input
  • Working on design-build transportation projects.



Salary: $100,000 - $115,000/year. Benefits: 401k, medical, dental, and vision insurance, STD/LTD disability, holiday, personal time off (PTO), parental leave, and company-paid life insurance.
