Job Opening: Quantitative Index Researcher at FTSE Russell

FTSE Russell is seeking a Quantitative Index Researcher with 5 years of experience in asset management, factor investing, and systematic strategies. This role focuses on driving the development and enhancement of FTSE Russell's global index solutions. You will collaborate with senior stakeholders, leveraging expertise in research, factor design, and index construction to deliver innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Quantitative Research: Participate in the development of factor-based index methodologies, test alpha and risk models, and apply insights from academic and industry research.
  • Index Construction: Design and implement advanced index construction techniques, conduct robust backtests, and analyze performance.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Present complex research findings and innovative solutions to senior stakeholders, institutional clients, and other sophisticated audiences.
  • Data Management: Oversee the procurement, cleansing, and management of datasets critical to index production and research.
  • Tool Development: Build and enhance tools to support index monitoring, research workflows, and client deliverables.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in equity or index research, asset management, or related fields.
  • Proven expertise in factor investing, portfolio optimization, and systematic strategies.
  • Experience presenting research to senior stakeholders and institutional clients.
  • Advanced proficiency in Python, R, or similar programming tools.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Intellectual curiosity and a methodical approach to problem-solving.

Compensation/Benefits Information:

LSEG is committed to offering competitive Compensation and Benefits. The anticipated base salary for this position is $147,700 - $246,300. Please be aware base salary ranges may vary by geographic location, city and state. In addition to our offered base salary, this role is eligible for our Annual Incentive Plan (AIP/"bonus plan"). Target AIP rates will be commensurate with role level and posted career stage. Individual salary will be reflective of job related knowledge, skills and equivalent experience. LSEG roles (excluding internships and part-time roles of less than 20 hours per week) are typically eligible for inclusion in our LSEG Benefits program, which includes offerings of: Annual Wellness Allowance, Paid time-off, Medical, Dental, Vision, Flex Spending & Health Savings Options, Prescription Drug plan, 401(K) Savings Plan and Company match.
