Candidates who can contribute to that goal are encouraged to identify their strengths or experiences in this area. *** Student Account Representative~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Please note that this position will remain open until filled. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Primary Function: To participate as a member of the Bursar's Office team to achieve the goals of the division and the College. Responsibilities: Working with the staff assigned on: (1) Facilitate the operation of the Finance Office: maintain proper systems of accounting and internal control as related to the Bursar, according to established procedures; prepare financial statements relating to all aspects of the Bursar's function as required; assist in implementing established systems and procedures; provide customer service support; serve as Notary; (2) Provide secretarial services: typing, using College standard software, technology systems, and associated peripherals; answering phone; placing routine calls and dispensing routine information; handle routine notifications and correspondence as instructed; handle incoming and outgoing mail; filing; maintain supplies; make required copies and faxes; (3) Direct student assistants: delegate student employees' responsibilities and work load as directed; (4) Implementing special responsibilities: as assigned by the supervisor. Organizational Relationships: Responsible to the immediate supervisor for the performance of assigned duties. Performance Standards: Performance in this position is considered satisfactory when: (1) responsibilities of the position have been carried out at a level to ensure efficient functioning of the office; (2) effective cooperative relationships exist with other staff members, students and members of the community. Qualifications: (1) Education: (a) attainment of an Associate Degree in Accounting, Business or related discipline; (b) any equivalent combination of formal training and experience. (2) Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: (a) ability to use technology systems and tools to support the bursar operations; (b) accurate keyboarding, including figures and form completion; (c) proficient in College standard software, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases as pertains to the department; (d) understanding of Bursar's function and college accounting; (e) understanding of the College's fee structure; (f) accuracy in handling money; (g) high degree of confidentiality; (h) strong organizational skills; (i) adaptability; (j) aptitude for work to be performed; (k) ability to function effectively as a member of a team. (3) Experience: minimum one year related experience. |
