Office of Leadership & Community Engagement

Job Summary

Serve as a vital member of the Office of Leadership and Community Engagement. Provide direct assistance and guidance on the implementation of effective service-learning pedagogies and partnerships.

Responsibilities
  • Set vision and strategic plan/priorities for Community Engagement team to support university efforts including overseeing budgets for the service-learning, alternative breaks, and community engagement programs and supervising at least (1) graduate assistant and community engagement professional staff members
  • Oversee Service-Learning program including Service-Learning Facilitators and Faculty Fellows for all campuses
  • Collaborate with programming areas in the department to enhance and incorporate Community Engagement offerings and education into leadership, sustainability and student government programming
  • Serve as the curriculum lead and primary instructor for Lead 3000: Rethinking Community Leadership
  • Co-coordinate the BUILD Program, including serving as the primary contact for service sites, assisting with BUILD Leader training, and coordinating the service schedule for the program
  • Serve as the Assessment Lead for the department and as the department's Assessment Team representative for the Division of Student Affairs
  • Advance institutionalization of Service-Learning on campus and in the field by serving on relevant committees and council (campus, local, state, national, international) and by presenting at relevant conferences
  • Collaborate with faculty to enhance teaching and learning strategies pertaining to the implementation and utilization of service-learning in the academic classroom
  • Communicates community-identified needs to potential campus partners and serves as a resource regarding emerging partnership opportunities
  • Represent unit and University at recruitment events


Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
  • Master's Degree

Required Experience
  • Three (3) or more years of related work experience
  • Teaching experience in higher education
  • Supervisory experience
  • Team building experience
  • Experience with strategic planning and asset based community development


Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Experience
  • Program development, implementation and assessment experience


Proposed Salary

$55,000

This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.
