Job Purpose and Overview

The Director of Global Master Data Governance is responsible for implementing and maintaining a comprehensive data governance program across all master data objects ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of our global master data. This role will manage all organization-wide data governance activities, have responsibility for improving the quality and managing the protection of sensitive data, establish, and ensure adherence to an enterprise data governance framework for data policies and standards both at the business and functional area level.

This role will have management responsibility for the North America and Latin America Master Data teams and dotted line responsibility for the Europe team with a global governance process for all teams. This Director will establish service level agreements (SLA's) to measure, manage, and ensure timely responses to master data requests from the Dawn business.

The Director of Global Master Data Governance serves as a point of escalation for governance, data quality, and protection issues and will work closely with the business and functional area leads to improve the quality and value of our core master data.

Work Environment & Travel: This role is remote with requirements to be located in Eastern or Central time zones to support business needs across different time zones, specifically international, effectively. Up to 30% travel is required.

What will you do as a Director of Global Master Data at Dawn Foods?



  • Create and maintain a Global Data Governance framework/roadmap for our core Customer, Material, and Vendor master data objects.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and standards for data governance for other cross-functional master data objects.
  • Establish service level agreements (SLA's) for measuring adherence to process and ensuring timely responses across all regions of the Dawn business
  • Assist the business with defining the roles and responsibilities for Data Owners and Data Stewards.
  • Establish and lead regularly scheduled Global Data Governance meetings for all master data objects cross-functionally ensuring policies and SOPs are being adhered to and data governance goals are being met.
  • Collaborate with Global and Regional Data Owners to create workflows and process changes to enhance the Data Quality of master data and other business-critical data.
  • Work across different levels of the organization to identify new data governance needs to incorporate into the Global Data Governance policies and framework.
  • Monitor and report on data quality, including identifying and resolving data issues.
  • Collaborate with IT and business teams to ensure data governance is integrated into all data-related projects and initiatives.
  • Oversee/manage regional Master Data teams and ensure adherence to Global Data Governance policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned as needed



What Does It Take to be a Director of Global Master Data at Dawn Foods?

Below are the minimum qualifications to be a fit for this job.



  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a similar focus. Will accept 12 years of equivalent work experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree
  • A minimum of 7 years of experiencein Master Data Management
  • Experience with SAP ECC and S4/HANA Master Data experience
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience managing and leading a team
  • Proven experience in developing and maintaining a global data governance framework or roadmap, or have played a significant part in theteam responsible for its creation and implementation.
  • Understanding of how data is used within business processes and its impact on desired business process outcomes
  • Deep and comprehensive understanding of the importance and impact of data (or bad data) on the ability of the business to meet its own objectives
  • Experience with data analysis techniques
  • Project Management skills - specifically system implementations
  • Awareness of the security, privacy, ethics, and quality requirements for critical data entities
  • Ability to effectively partner and communicate with all levels across company
  • Ability to develop collaborative working relationships cross-functionally
  • Ability to breakdown complex problems and projects into manageable goals
  • Willing and able to take charge, provide direction, and manage through challenging situations
  • Excellent communication skills (oral & written) and demonstrated leadership skills
  • Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize multiple demands
  • Results-oriented
  • Proficiency in the following required: MS Teams, SharePoint, and MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Effective in building trust, respect, and cooperation among teams
  • Experience within Food Distribution/Manufacturing, Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), or a similar industry is strongly preferred

Compensation

$118,730-$201,850 with bonus eligibility
