WBS, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Student Intern in our Milwaukee, Wisconsin location.This internship is full-time 32-40 hours per week during the Summer of 2025. The hourly rate for this internship is $19.80 with paid company holidays.

Job Summary

We employ students for summer and year-round opportunities to help design creative cost effective systems and equipment that keep the energy flowing to our customers in a safe and reliable manner. WEC Energy Group offers a variety of engineering opportunities for students seeking hands-on experience that are currently enrolled in a four-year degree program. Students work with experienced members of these functional teams.

The Corporate Affairs team is comprised of professionals who focus on four corporate support areas: corporate governance, board services, stockholder services, and entity management. Key clients include WEC Energy Group board of directors, subsidiary company boards, executive management, stockholders, and business unit leadership. The team's primary role is to assist the corporate secretary in facilitating corporate governance activities on behalf of the board of directors of our parent company, as well as the boards of directors of our subsidiary companies. The Student Intern role involves supporting governance and stockholder services processes, managing records, and assisting with special projects. Also, given internal collaboration between Corporate Affairs and our Ethics & Compliance organization, the Student Intern will have the opportunity to support both teams.

Job Responsibilities
  • Support staff on projects while developing interpersonal and communication skills, organizational and time management skills, and building positive work habits.
  • Research legislation and other developments impacting governance practices at publicly traded corporations.
  • Research best practices in various public disclosures
  • Support records management
  • Assist with Ethics & Compliance projects, including audit of training program, review of corporate policies, and Ethics & Compliance intranet site
  • Support final phase of new Entity Management system implementation, including auditing and updating process flows & documentation
  • Evaluate options to improve WEC stock-related processes
  • Build working knowledge within field of study through exposure to a variety of daily tasks and projects.
  • Demonstrate high ethical standards and maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive materials.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks effectively while meeting deadlines and adapting to shifting priorities.
  • Collaborate with team members on various projects and identify opportunities for process improvement.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, GED, or HSED
  • Current pursuit of a Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Business, Communications, Finance, Pre-law, or related field.
  • Minimum GPA of 2.8
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy
  • Achievement of Junior or Senior status in Fall 2025

Pay Range Minimum: $19.80

Pay Range Maximum: $22.86

The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs. At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
