The Senior Battery Management Systems HIL Engineer is responsible for development and implementation of BMS validation test cases that satisfy our product and component requirements from the development phases through production and service. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Validate battery management software in electrified powertrains. Test controls strategies and embedded software for automotive battery management systems using hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) systems.
  • Develop and execute software test plans in compliance with project timing and budget. Develop requirements-based test procedures, HIL upgrades and plant modeling. Work with third party engineering services to execute test automation.
  • Lead and prioritize work of engineering resources on a day-to-day basis. Debug the hardware system under test, including sensors, actuators, and interactions with the dSpace simulator.
  • Develop Software verification plan based on the system and software requirement specifications, functional safety requirements, and the robustness requirements.
  • Design and optimize the hardware-in-the-loop system to accommodate different program configurations (harness design and procurement, different number of sensors and/or actuators to run test matrices).
  • Run software verification for planned software releases. Summarize results, track issues, and establish timing. Determine equipment needs and allocation of equipment. Resolve issues with minimal guidance and support.
  • Lead capital requests and resource efficiency studies to optimize test bench and global team utilization of resources
