The QA/QC Technician 1 plays a critical role in ensuring the quality of our asphalt products, performing testing and inspection of materials, and maintaining accurate records. Compensation $21.00 - $24.00 per hour (dependent upon experience & NYS certifications for asphalt and cement QA/QC currently held) Main Responsibilities Inspect products for quality, identify and take corrective action as necessary. Keep lab in neat, clean, and professional order. Ensure accurate test results are reported daily, and on time. Implement measures to improve quality control methods, equipment, performance, service, safety, and quality of products. Review and analyze test results to determine conformity with product specifications as required. Skills Have a good solid understanding of the basic specifications, principles, and products associated with the construction / aggregate / Asphalt industry. Recognize actual and potential problems related to quality control operations. Inspect products for quality, identify and take corrective action as necessary. Keep certifications, and qualifications up to date through seminars, meetings, and tests. Ensure that all quality control activities are conducted in conformance with company policies, regulatory agencies, and acceptable working practices. Physical Requirements: Able to lift or move up to 50 pounds. Able to stand, walk, sit, reach, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. Able to work in wet and/or dry conditions and extreme heat and cold.
