Job Summary

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to the following:

1.To always meet customer orders and demands by operating the systems according to authorized written procedures and coordinating tasks with other internal departments.

2.Ensure production meets scheduled runs and deadlines by performing duties, including receiving raw materials and intermediate products from appropriate plant departments according to designated schedules and providing support to other plant areas, as directed.

3.Practice and promote safety, quality and sanitation by following plant policies, GMP's and procedures. Compliance with these policies, procedures and GMP's is required. In addition, you have an obligation to yourself, and your fellow employees to report any safety hazards observed including failure of others to follow safety and sanitation procedures

4.Help to promote an employee driven environment

5.Provide production and inventory information by taking measurements, counts, and readings as required for process and inventory control and preparing and transmitting all required forms and reports of transferred goods to Production Management.

6.Utilize SAP computer system for timely and accurate production reporting, inventory control and communication.

7.Ensure product quality by practicing good sanitation, performing quality control sampling and quality control sampling and quality control analyses, as designated by Supervisor and obtaining all quality control approvals prior to use of product.

8.Plan and coordinate packaging operations.

9.Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.

10.Compliance with Company policies and procedures is required.

11.Run plant trials and test under supervision of production management.

12.Ensure adherence to all management systems including, ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 and Food Safety, with an understanding of IFF's Quality and Environmental Policies and procedures. Responsible that these policies and procedures are implemented throughout the organization and all related activities under the position's jurisdiction.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

To successfully perform the requirements of this position, the incumbent must possess a high school or equivalent education, a two-year technical degree would be preferred with six months process plant experience, at DUSK, or in a similar manufacturing environment. The incumbent must also be able to operate spray equipment effectively and efficiently, follow written or verbal instructions and possess strong mechanical aptitude. The ability to work independently in accordance with company safety and cleanliness standards is required. Knowledge of formulation process extremely beneficial.

SCOPE OF POSITION

This position reports directly to the Finishing Superintendent and has some supervisory responsibilities. Decisions may be made on own work plus work of crew, including assisting other departments as needed. A typical problem-solving activity includes ensuring quality of product and safety of work environment, instructing others and communication within and between departments.

Management retains the discretion to add or change the duties of this position at any time.

WORKING CONDITIONS

This position operates in a production/plant environment 100 percent of the time and is subject to safety procedures. Position requires lifting of up to 55 pounds. Exposure to hazardous materials training is required. Incumbent must be willing / able to wear half face or full-face respirator.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES

1.Proper use and maintenance of company equipment.

2.Production schedules consistently met.

3.Accurate and timely sampling, testing and reporting of product to production management, inclusive of data entry into computerized inventory control system.

4.Safe, healthy and clean work environment maintained. Report all accidents or near misses to supervisor.

5.Timely and accurate performance of quality control checks.

6.Build a healthy team climate where individuals can operate positive and flexible in providing customer needs.

7.Provide input to Production Management that will influence key plant support groups to obtain necessary resources to achieve day to day objectives.

8.Produce finished goods with the highest possible yield (minimize waste, residue and remelt) and within internal product specifications.

9.Housekeeping: Insure all production areas are kept clean and free of clutter.

10.Changeovers are completed in an efficient and timely manner.
