Overview

Performs full range of classification functions applying OPM general schedule and wage system classification standards. Conducts job audits and consistency reviews.

Responsibilities

    Review and validate already established PDs for complete and updated OF-8 equivalent document.
  • Classify full range of GS, EX SL/ST, ALJ, and excepted service pay plans.
  • Complete position classification actions across General Schedule and Excepted Service Personnel Programs and within specialized pay systems.
  • Manage PD Library and enforce classification standards.
  • Prepare narrative evaluation statements, including statements of difference.
  • Utilize automated classification tool.
  • Reviews work of peers and other staff members as quality control.
  • Serve as SME for complex classification actions and special projects.
  • Reviews proposed revisions to position descriptions and implements new or revised classification standards.
  • Develops and implements classification program process improvements.
  • Utilize productivity management applications, such as ServiceNow, to track work, document processing efforts and outcomes, and communicate with customers throughout processing efforts.
  • Participate in the design, testing, and implementation of system enhancements associated with assigned work area.
  • Conduct organizational reviews to create new organizations, modify existing organizations, or prepare recommendations for restructuring activities.
  • Manage position, organizational, and job/occupational family data elements and tables within personnel systems.
  • Comply with, or inform, resource allocation requirements for alignment with classification activities.
  • Conduct desk audits, support ER cases were position classification is part of a case subject.
  • Interact with staffing activities to ensure alignment of position documentation with job analysis and staffing crediting plans.
  • Prepare activity reports.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • 1-10 years specialized experience performing Federal Classification duties utilizing OPM Classification Handbook.
  • Proficiency to perform assigned work in both an automated and non-automated state.


Desired Qualifications

  • Recent experience conducting organization reviews leading to restructuring.
  • Recent experience conducting desk audits.
