JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Pennsylvania State University College of Liberal Arts is seeking part-time help!

The part-time Administrative Assistant will provide administrative support to the Department of Anthropology by performing a variety of daily office duties. Responsibilities include scanning documents, assisting in the setup and maintenance of a key log, sorting and distributing incoming mail, setting up mailboxes, and supporting general office functions to ensure smooth operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Scan, digitize, and organize departmental documents for easy access and storage.
  • Assist in maintaining a key log, tracking new building keys, and ensuring proper record-keeping for key distribution.
  • Sort and distribute incoming mail, ensuring important items are directed to the appropriate individuals.
  • Set up and manage staff mailboxes, ensuring proper labeling and organization.
  • Perform general office duties such as filing, inventory management, and answering phone calls or emails as needed.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office or similar software.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Previous administrative experience is a plus.
