Minimal Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in HVAC/R or qualifying field with a minimum of 5 years of industry experience;
    OR
  • Associate's degree in any field and a combination of formal training, 8 years of work experience and professional tested experience;
    OR
  • A minimum of 10 years of verifiable work experience in the HVAC industry.
  • Minimum Qualifications can be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, formal training (such as an apprenticeship in a related field) and professional tested experience that provides a foundation in the specific subject matter being taught.



Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Preference will be given to individuals who possess:

  • Experience teaching basic electrical theory (AC) as applied to HVAC.
  • Experience teaching Gas Heating as relates to the residential setting.
  • Experience teaching Air Conditioning as relates to the residential setting.
  • Experience teaching system installation process / procedures as relates to the residential setting.
  • Experience teaching the 'properties of air' (psychrometric charts', mixed airflow calculations, etc.)
  • Successfully completed HVAC training / education in a recognized institution or program.
  • Curriculum development in HVAC content.
  • Experience teaching in a community college setting.



Work Hours
Normally scheduled Monday through Friday; however, may be required to work other shifts to include evenings and/or weekends. Schedule subject to change based upon department needs.


Compensation
Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
