Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Network Engineer to join our team to support the Defense Health Agency (DHA) at an onsite location.

As a Network Engineer, you will:



  • Work with a team of driven, supportive and highly skilled professionals.

A week in the life of a Network Engineer, you will:



  • Coordinate with network administrators and stakeholders to manage changes, whether implementing new networks or upgrading existing ones.
  • Play a crucial role in planning, coordinating, and executing security measures to protect both new and legacy networks.
  • Engage in network modeling, analysis, and strategic planning, you'll help us stay ahead in the rapidly evolving tech landscape.
  • Work closely with architecture teams to evaluate and recommend cutting-edge network technologies. Support network administrators in resolving complex troubleshooting issues and may oversee vendor engagements to aid in these efforts.
  • Handle operational or administrative duties for networks in both lab and production environments.
  • Exhibit higher levels of independent thought and handle more complex tasks than Level II engineers, with the potential to supervise others.
  • Bring your strategic vision and proactive problem-solving skills to a dynamic and forward-thinking team.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree and/or equivalency
  • Public Trust Clearance
  • IA Technical/Management Designation: IAT II and CE
  • Experience in this Discipline: Six (6) years of progressive experience demonstrating the required
  • proficiency.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking.
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging with team members and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Additional Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with cloud networking (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
  • Experience with scripting and automation tools like Python or Ansible for network automation.
  • Knowledge of emerging networking technologies and trends, such as SD-WAN.
  • These qualifications equip a Network Engineer III to manage and optimize complex network environments effectively, ensuring their reliability, security, and scalability.

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $100,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
