Role Description

Form Energy is hiring a highly motivated and hands-on individual to join our Cathode Engineering Team. Our Cathode Engineering Team brings together experts in Materials, Battery, Test, and Process engineering to understand, design, and validate Form Energy's iron positive electrodes.

As a technician on our team, you will work collaboratively to produce, document, and characterize our batteries cathodes. This work will directly support the development, optimization, and scaling of a core part of our technology. Day to day, you will execute tests and experiments, contributing critical data to our development teams. As your familiarity with the lab grows, expect to recommend process improvements, and articulate findings to our engineers and scientists for further analysis.

What you'll do:
  • Prepare materials coming from Form Factory 1 for analysis in our MA-based lab

  • Operate standard mechanical testing equipment to collect data on materials properties

  • Follow standard operating procedures and document process conditions and deviations

  • Continuously improve the process for existing production and analysis protocols

  • Support engineers and scientists in executing their experiments

  • Utilize company communication channels to effectively collaborate (Slack, Jira, Asana, etc.)

What you'll bring:
  • 2+ years experience in a R&D or manufacturing environment

  • Demonstrated experience following standard operating procedures

  • Ability to lift 50 lb, and to be on your feet for extended periods

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills within a group of peers and across a broader organization
