The Project Support Advisor serves as a conduit between point of contact and admission to support teacher candidates' enrollment. They provide constant follow-up and support prospective candidates with completing
CSU applications for admission,
FAFSA, and all other necessary documentation for enrollment and
CSU scholarship consideration. |
Job Description |
The Project Support Advisor/ will:
- Maintain a "case load" of 50 students: Interface/connect with students regularly (no fewer than 2 times/term) to provide academic advising.
- Facilitate students' connection and interface with other offices, resources, and information to maintain student participants' enrollment, retention
and graduation.
- Maintain "case load" student records.
- Develop and maintain relationships with other TQP Project COE Faculty and Staff, and Students, and TQP School Partners.
- Communicate with external TQP partners / agencies to support students.
- Collaborate with the Project Director and Project Manager/Facilitator in providing requested information for data collection, reporting and planning.
- Work with students and other TQP staff and faculty members to determine, schedule and manage the needs for participant students' support.
- Maintain communication with student support resources such as the Learning Assistance Center, Counseling Office, Wellness Center, Student Abilities Office,
COE Student Recruitment and Retention Center, African American Male, Latino and LGBTQ Resource Centers as needed to support project participants.
- Maintain communication with internal CSU offices and office staff, support services, and faculty for the purpose of supporting students' retention and degree
completion. This includes the Registrar's Office, the Director of Admissions, Director of Financial Aid, Bursar, and University Facilities as needed to support project participants.
- Engage in recruitment and promotional activities.

Minimum Qualifications |
Minimum, Bachelor's Degree |
Preferred Qualifications |
Two years of experiences working in some aspect of education or human services. |
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities |
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Ability to interface and work collaboratively with others.
Demonstrate/Develop a basic working knowledge of institutions' early childhood programs and
Gateways credentials
Demonstrate/Develop a working knowledge of campus processes and procedures.
Experience in the early childhood profession is preferred, but not required.

Additional Applicant Information |
This is a part-time position (20 hours per week). The position reports to the
TQP Grant Project Director and Project Manager/Facilitator. |
Physical Requirement/ Demands |
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times. |
