The H. Milton School of Industrial and Systems Engineering is a leading unit within the Georgia Institute of Technology. Job Summary

The H. Milton Stewart School of Industrial & Systems Engineering at Georgia Tech invites applications for a non-tenure track Research Faculty position.

This position will engage with the Center for Health and Humanitarian Systems and perform research in a variety of areas, including public health analytics, using (and advancing as needed) methodologies such as optimization, simulation, and statistical modeling.

Responsibilities

The time spent on the following responsibilities will fluctuate but remain as the core categories for this position. Duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Conducting, disseminating, and documenting research projects.
  • Research projects include but not limited to designing and developing algorithms and models to use against large datasets to create public health insights.
  • Developing software
  • Collaborating with research engineers, program operations manager, and mentoring undergraduate students.
  • Managing the professional education certificate program, research symposiums, and other outreach events.
  • Maintaining relations with academic and industrial partners.
Required Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in related field
Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Math, Statistics, etc.) or equivalent work experience
  • Experience with program operations and management
  • 3+ years of experience in business intelligence and analytics
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience in a modern scripting language (preferably Python)
  • Experience running queries against data (preferably with Google BigQuery or SQL)
  • Experience in predictive modeling, data mining and data analysis
  • Experience with data visualization software (preferably Tableau)
  • Experience utilizing statistical techniques to identify key insights that help solve business problems.
  • Basic knowledge or exposure to Prescriptive Modeling like optimization, computer vision, recommendation, search or NLP
