Job Description

Do you have a passion for helping individuals overcome challenges and thrive? Are you a compassionate, hands-on professional who values diversity and collaboration? Join our team as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) and make a meaningful difference in the lives of adults living with severe and persistent mental illness and substance use challenges.

As a QMHP, you'll work directly with clients in a supportive and structured environment, helping them maintain housing, achieve personal goals, and build independence. Based in a Residential Clustered Apartment (RESCA) community in Kansas City, MO, this role allows you to provide daily, on-site support to clients without the need for extensive travel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage clients daily to provide therapeutic support and interventions.
  • Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including maintaining their housing and reducing symptoms.
  • Provide guidance to clients struggling with substance use and collaborate with their treatment team, including caseworkers and psychiatrists.
  • Intervene in acute crisis situations and help clients set and achieve personal goals.
  • Complete clinical documentation and maintain treatment plans.
  • Learn and implement Cognitive Therapy for Recovery (CT-R).
  • Empower clients to build their own community support systems.
  • Teach practical skills such as cleaning and organizing by working alongside clients in their apartments.

What You Bring

We're looking for someone who values diversity, brings a compassionate and hopeful mindset, and has strong leadership and collaboration skills. The ideal candidate is hands-on, adaptable, and open to learning. If you have a knack for thinking outside the box and empowering others to succeed, this role is for you.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Master's degree from an accredited program in counseling, psychology, social work, family therapy, or a closely related field.
  • Knowledge of psychiatric terminology and the process of psychiatric diagnosis.
  • Demonstrated understanding of mental health assessment and treatment, with basic research skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate on a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Organizational and leadership skills.
  • Independent judgment, adaptability to changing environments, and willingness to take direction.
  • If driving is required, must meet fleet driving safety standards.
  • Completion of required training as directed through orientation and ongoing education.

Schedule and Location

  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM.
  • Location: Kansas City, MO, with an office inside the RESCA apartment building. All clients reside within the same building.

Why Join Our Team?

  • Hands-On Impact: Build relationships and work closely with clients to help them succeed in life.
  • Convenience: Avoid long commutes - all clients are located in one building.
  • Professional Growth: Learn and implement CT-R, a cutting-edge therapeutic approach.
  • Supportive Environment: Collaborate with a compassionate team that values diversity and innovation.
  • Empower Change: Be part of a mission-driven organization making a tangible difference in the community.
