Job Description:

Summary

Applies engineering techniques to design efficient systems that integrate machinery, staff, resources and information to streamline product development and/or processes. Champions projects focused on manufacturing and/or Warehouse layout, process design, equipment specification and implementation. Provides technical support during all phases of project development and implementation. Analyzes, develops and evaluates systems. Improves and maintains current systems, and/or creates brand new projects. Works cross functionally on projects advising teams on technical items and using technical knowledge to support decision making.

Essential Functions

* Participate in department and interdepartmental planning and management teams and works cross-functionally to improve processes within the organization.

* Analyze data to determine feasibility of product proposal.

* Review project proposal or plans and makes recommendations on project timeline, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project.

* Manage assigned project assignments to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.

* Drafts and designs layout of equipment, materials, and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency.

* Considers workflow, layout, and safety measures and identifies opportunities for improving efficiency and productivity.

* Design and draft blueprints.

* Confer with the business and other engineers to clarify and resolve problems; prepares design modifications as appropriate.

* Prepare status reports and modify schedules or plans as required.

* Prepare product or system layout, detailed drawings and schematics.

* Analyze test data and reports to determine if design meets function and performance specifications.

* Review engineering test results for possible application to development of systems or other uses.

* Act as a liaison with other departments, divisions, and organizations.

* Identify and obtain team capabilities needed to accomplish project objectives.

* Balance planning efforts with day-to-day demands.

* Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations. If accountable for the work of others, responsible for ensuring their understanding and compliance.

* Must maintain satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

* High School diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate.

* Bachelor degree plus 3 years of Engineering experience focused on Manufacturing and/or Warehouse processes; OR Bachelor degree plus 2 years of G3 Engineering experience focused on Manufacturing and/or Warehouse processes; OR High School diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 7 years of Engineering experience focused on Manufacturing and/or Warehouse processes; OR High School diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 6 years of G3 Engineering experience focused on Manufacturing and/or Warehouse processes.

* Ability to read and understand a process flow diagram and design mechanical drawings.

* Exposure to OSHA requirements.

* Proficient level experience with MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint.

* Demonstrated ability to be flexible/adaptable in a fast-paced, dynamic business environment.

* Required to lift and move up to 50 pounds.

* Required to travel 20% of the time.

* Candidates for this position must have a valid driver's license and a safe driving record. Required to obtain a California driver's license or appropriate state driver's license within 30 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.

* 5 years of Industrial, Process and/or Project Engineering experience in a Manufacturing or Warehouse environment.

* Experience with both 2D and parametric modeling CAD software.

* Experience with AutoCAD and Inventor.

* Experience with Industrial Facility Design.

* Experience defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.

* Ability to communicate and explain technical results clearly to management and work team.

* Experience interpreting an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

* SQL and larger database tool experience.

* Experience with WMS and/or MMS.

* Experience with automation and mechanization. Working knowledge of automated forklifts and racking techniques.

* Experience working with cross functional teams and driving projects to completion.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to noisy conditions.

Compensation



  1. Hiring Salary Range: $75,600-$94,500
  2. Actual compensation amount paid may be lower or higher to be determined by factors other than race and gender such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
