Position: Employee Benefits Account Manager
Location: Irvine, CA
Reports to: Vice President, Employee Benefits
Work Schedule:Hybrid schedule, 2-3 days Mon-Thurs (Fri, remote)

Summary:
The Account Manager works closely with Account Executives to manage and support employee benefits programs for clients. This role involves managing day-to-day client service, overseeing renewals, plan implementation, and ensuring smooth operations. The Account Manager builds strong relationships to ensure client satisfaction and retention.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Account Executives to manage client relationships and employee benefits strategies.
  • Develop, execute, and renew benefit plans, manage RFPs, and coordinate carrier negotiations.
  • Lead and oversee Open Enrollment activities, including employee education presentations and compliance documentation.
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients regarding benefits, claims, and compliance issues.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with carriers and vendors to secure the best outcomes for clients.
  • Identify opportunities to upsell or cross-sell additional services to support client growth and retention.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and compliance updates, educating clients on regulatory changes.
  • Maintain detailed and organized client records, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
  • Actively participate in professional development and training programs to enhance expertise.

Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in employee benefits account management.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, HR, Healthcare Administration, or related fields preferred.
  • Valid California Life/Health insurance license required.
  • Professional designation (CEBS, GBA, REBC) or willingness to obtain within 18 months.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with AMS 360 and ImageRight preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple client accounts and collaborate effectively with colleagues and vendors.
  • Comfortable hosting virtual meetings using platforms like Teams or Zoom.
Travel: Occasional travel may be required for client meetings.

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
  • licensure and certification requirements;
  • office location and other geographic considerations;

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
