Credit Intern

Interning with Farm Credit of Florida offers an exciting opportunity to explore our mission to serve and finance rural America.

We are recruiting for a Credit Intern to join our team for the summer. This program is designed for students that would like to get practical experience in finance and credit administration. Hands on interaction with the Farm Credit of Florida credit team will allow you the opportunity to work on analyzing credit packages, learn the basics of credit analyst work, shadow with various members of the credit team, and develop the skills to identify the various strengths and weaknesses of credits, financial spreading and technical writing. This internship will be in our Alachua Florida office.

Objectives:

- Learn about the Farm Credit System and Farm Credit of Florida products, services, mission, and function of the Credit department.
- Develop the basic skills to make sound credit decisions using financial statements, income statements, credit reports, and ratios.
- Understand how Farm Credit of Florida services new and existing borrower's financial needs by shadowing members of the Credit team, farm visits and reviewing the loan application process.
- Learn what key information is needed to make credit decisions and the process to gather that information.
- Understand the 5 Cs of credit, and who we loan money to.
- Assists with special projects, as assigned.

Skills:

- Efficient problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and Adobe programs.
- Organized with attention to detail.
- Motivated and has a strong desire to learn.

Basic Qualifications:

- Must be pursuing a Bachelor's in accounting, finance or related field.
- Rising Junior or Senior
- Agriculture, rural ties, and/or knowledge of various segments in the agriculture industry are a plus.
