SummaryPlans, schedules, coordinates and/or monitors final approval of products through the complete production cycle. Works from engineering plans and production specifications to establish production schedules, labor loading, and capacity requirements. Coordinates production plans to ensure materials are provided according to schedules. Master Scheduler: Provides input to management; schedules and/or interfaces with marketing, sales, production and engineering managers. Works to resolve (in case of design changes) labor and material shortages, backlogs and other potential schedule interruptions. Oversees the master schedules and ensures comprehensive compliance with materials requirements for manufacturing. Job Description

May perform MRP analysis and future demand estimates

What you will do (Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities):

  • Ensure that production has parts for builds with limited disruption by planning materials; assess delivery dates scheduled versus demand and bring visibility to at risk items by communicating with purchasing department.
  • Work with procurement and suppliers in advance to address potential supply chain disruptions.
  • Notify production and engineering of potential supply chain disruptions and enlist engineering support as needed to qualify alternate supply channels.
  • Regularly report on manufacturing risk and mitigation efforts.
  • Facilitate IXT portion of Sales & Operating Planning (S&OP) Cycle by:
    • Gathering Data - actual demand; supply, inventory, backlog, statistical forecasts, etc.
    • Demand Planning - Create materials, meet with sales/marketing.
    • Supply Planning - Create materials, meet with procurement.
    • Create/Update IXT forecasts for material/production planning.
    • Capacity Planning - meet with operations, model capacity.
    • Propose needs, recommendations, scenarios, etc.
  • Perform EOP & MRP analysis and future demand estimates.
  • Exercise independent judgment and discretion in solving complex business problems.
  • Receives and analyzes information from other support groups.
  • Generate and complete actions on Engineering Change Orders (ECO).
  • Assist with new product set-up in MRP, i.e., part number maintenance, BOM maintenance, planning requirements, etc.
  • Normally receives little or no instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments.

What you will bring (Job requirements - knowledge, skills, and ability):

  • Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP product and productivity software.
  • Proficient in utilizing business tools such as: E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work with others.
  • Experience working with suppliers and buyers to ensure consistent delivery of parts to meet production demand.
  • Proficiency in capacity planning, procurement, and supply chain methods.
  • Ability to quickly learn and understand business and material management processes.
  • Proficiency in relationship management and communication with all group members in the value stream.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of related experience
  • Master's Degree with 3+ years of related experience

Preferred (qualifications and requirements)

  • Industrial product knowledge
  • Knowledge, experience, and expertise using planning and scheduling tools/systems
  • Prior experience in Sales & Operations Planning Cycle
