Data Engineer

As a Data Engineer you will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining our data infrastructure, while ensuring the efficient and reliable flow of data across the organization.

Essential Functions & Requirements:



  • Prioritizes health and safety by adhering to policies, processes, and maintaining safe practices at all times
  • Designs, develops and maintains scalable pipelines to support data integration, processing and analysis using Azure Data Factory
  • Manages and optimizes data storage solutions, specifically Snowflake
  • Implements data integration and transformation processes to ensure data quality and consistency
  • Collaborates with data analysts and business intelligence teams to support data-driven decision making
  • Develops and optimizes ETL processes to ingest data from various sources into our data warehouse
  • Monitors and troubleshoots data pipeline issues to ensure data availability and reliability
  • Works within the Azure ecosystem to leverage cloud-based data services and tools
  • Creates and maintains documentation for data engineering processes and workflows
  • Takes on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization


Education:



  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or related field (required)


Experience:



  • 3+ years of experience as a data engineer or within a similar role (required)
  • Proven experience in data modeling, ETL processes, data warehousing and cloud-based services and tools within the Azure ecosystem (required)
  • Proficiency in Azure Data Factory, Oracle DB, Snowflake and Power BI (required)
  • Proficiency in SQL or other programming languages, e.g. Python or Java (required)
  • Azure certification, or other relevant technologies (preferred)
  • Previous experience supporting Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning projects (preferred)

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with a variety of stakeholders
  • Knowledge of current data governance and security best practices, with the commitment to stay abreast of changes
  • Regular and predictable attendance to perform the essential functions and requirements of this role
