Job Summary This position has an anticipated start date of 7/1/2025. This posting is for a full-time, residential Nursing Faculty position requiring theoretical and clinical knowledge of both pediatric and obstetric nursing. Although this position may provide classroom instruction, the focus is on clinical laboratory and simulation instruction to nursing students from diverse backgrounds. This position prepares and provides innovative, research-based, supervised laboratory and simulated learning activities to students utilizing various methods of instruction (e.g., high-fidelity patient simulators, standardized patient, live actors, and task trainers) to achieve educational objectives. The primary teaching focus will be in specialty areas of pediatrics and obstetrics in the Maricopa Nursing RN program and Practical Nursing Program. A master's degree is required to teach the theoretical component of the Maricopa Nursing RN program. This position may also teach in the Nurse Assistant, Continuing Education, and/or RN to BSN programs. Essential Functions
Minimum Qualifications 1. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree plus 3 years of experience as a professional nurse providing direct patient care, or a BSN and a graduate degree and 2 years experience as a professional nurse providing direct patient care, or a graduate degree in nursing and 2 years of experience as a professional nurse providing direct patient care. 2. Must hold an Arizona registered nurse license in good standing or multi-state privilege to practice in Arizona by the first day of employment. 3. Must be able to meet health and safety requirements including CPR certification, Fingerprint Clearance Card, and drug testing. 4. Completion of Springboard to Success faculty training is required for new faculty by the end of the first semester. Desired Qualifications A. Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree. B. Three (3) or more years' experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care in a pediatric setting. C. Three (3) or more years' experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care in an obstetric health setting. D. One (1) or more years of classroom teaching experience in a nursing program. E. One (1) or more years of clinical/lab teaching experience in a nursing program. F. One (1) or more years of experience facilitating simulation using simulation technology (e.g. Laerdal, Gaumard, and CAE manikins) G. Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) certification.
