Job Description

This position, located at Eielson AFB, Alaska, applies basic and some advanced technical knowledge to solve routine problems by interpreting manufacturers' manuals or similar documents. Work requires familiarity with the interrelationships of circuits and judgment in planning work sequence, in selecting tools, testing instruments, and is reviewed for compliance with accepted practices. This technician works under immediate supervision and achieves technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician.



      ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

      Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:



      • Ensure scheduled Ground Subsystems are fully functional
      • Ensure conformance to all Quality Management System Requirements, including plans, policies, procedures, and work instructions. Demonstrate commitment to quality policy and objectives, process orientation, continuous improvement, and customer focus.
      • Schedule and Perform periodic, preventive, and corrective maintenance on all assigned equipment to including ancillary equipment.
      • Respond to notification of malfunctioning systems, including applicable Live Monitor functions; troubleshoot and repair to restore the Ground Subsystems to full functionality..
      • Perform system installation, preparation for use and reshipment.
      • Prepare Data for debriefings and assist with debriefings
      • Identify and report correction/improvement to technical data
      • Identify and report product/material quality deficiencies
      • Identify and report Supply Discrepancies
      • Ensure proper use and handling of COMSEC material
      • Function in the dual capacity of operator-maintainer to safely and realistically operate and maintain fully functional systems, equipment or circuits (such as radar, radio, telecommunication, video) for maximum training and mission effectiveness supporting combat force training
      • Exercise independent judgment and apply detailed understanding of the interrelationships of circuits while performing such tasks as making circuit analyses, calculating wave forms, and tracing relationships in signal flow.
      • Apply advanced technical knowledge while performing preventive and corrective maintenance action for safe, serviceable and properly configured systems; this includes actions to inspect, service, align/adjust/calibrate, prevent/control corrosion, modify/upgrade equipment and documentation IAW approved directives, and re-establish systems after movements and deployments, as well as solve complex problems through fault detection/troubleshooting/isolation, repair, removing and reinstalling.
      • Demonstrate knowledge in the use of complex test instruments such as high frequency pulse generators, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, and complex computer control equipment.
      • Work may be reviewed by supervisor for general compliance with accepted practices. This position may provide technical guidance to lower level technicians
      • Ensure compliance with TDXi Quality Control and Safety Programs
      • Other duties as assigned by the Program manager



      MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:



      • Associate degree in technical field or equivalent Vocational/Military training
      • Must be able to demonstrate proficient with test equipment used in maintaining these systems including oscilloscope, RF and AF signal generators, voltmeters, and distortion analyzers
      • A minimum of 3 years' experience
      • Computer certifications highly desired


      Additional Requirements



      • US Citizen // Secret Secret Clearance or ability to obtain is required
      • Applicants must have a valid state driver's license
      • Must possess or be capable of obtaining tower climbing/High Angle rescue certification
      • Ability to read, analyze, and apply knowledge of both electrical and mechanical schematics
