Basic Function

HF Sinclair is seeking a Director, Strategy & Development in Dallas, TX who will be leading thestrategy & business development initiatives such as acquisitions, joint ventures, and divestitures. Provide capital spend guidance and financial analysis to support organic and inorganic growth of the Marketing portfolio.

Job Duties

  • Develop and present potential acquisition, joint venture, and divestiture opportunities to senior management and Board of Directors.
  • Lead deal team for potential acquisitions, joint ventures, and divestitures, including deal sourcing, structuring, negotiation, due diligence, and integration efforts for the Marketing segment.
  • Own all financial models used by the Marketing segment, including potential deal models, to provide consistent quality assurance.
  • Develop various deal structure term sheets to facilitate inorganic growth for the Marketing segment.
  • Review portfolio of organic capital projects to enhance the Marketing segment return on investment.
  • Provide direction to external consultants, investment bankers, and legal advisors as needed.
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities across all business segments (refining, midstream, lubricants and specialties, renewables, and marketing) that complement and grow the core business.
  • Provide structure, support and guidance to junior strategy personnel.
  • Identify problems, evaluate data, develop financial plans and present solutions for which there are no previously defined, established approaches.
  • Assist in Capital Market Activities associated with business to include Debt Offerings & Equity Placements.
  • Manage Corporate Model with FP&A team to effectively layer in accretion/ dilution analysis for various capital structures.
  • Provide ad-hoc financial expertise to support key initiatives across the organization.



Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their superior, as determined from timeto time in their sole and complete discretion.

Experience

A minimum of ten years of progressive commercial, corporate finance or strategy experience is required. Also experience with retail convenience store deals from a financial modeling and/or negotiating perspective is required..

Preferred Experience

Prior experience with multiple parts of the energy value chain (upstream, midstream, downstream, and retail) is also preferred.

Education Level

A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business or similar fields is required.

Preferred Education

An MBA is highly desirable.

Required Skills

Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills. Expert knowledge of financial modelling. Advanced ability to analyze complex problems and mathematical computations. Strong ability to influence senior leaders across the organization. Strong business acumen and ability to be a self-starter.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility

Manage Analyst/ Associate level role in the modeling and presentations around M&A opportunities

Work Conditions

Office based with up to 25% travel by land and air required. Subject to all weather and varying road conditions.
