Job Summary Direct responsibility for management of Shipping & Receiving function of the Materials Management Department, to include: receiving, processing, and delivery of all Hospital equipment, materials, supplies, and clean linen. Directs the activities of the Hospital Courier and coordinates delivery of supplies to all off-campus Hospital activities. Networks with staff, vendors, and physicians in order to accomplish the requirements of this position. Researches all receiving problems and files claims with insurance companies and motor carriers as appropriate. Supervises the shipment of equipment for repair and for return to the vendor. Manages, plans, assigns and schedules all activities and operations of Shipping & Receiving function of theMaterials Management Department. Responsible for accounting for all supplies and equipment received by Hospital and correcting errors as appropriate in the Workday. Oversight of purchase orders works diligently with Customers to close out received supplies and equipment. Works on receiving, as well as directs delivery of all capital equipment purchased by the Hospital. Responsible for the hiring, evaluating and recommending termination of Receiving & Shipping personnel. Establishes office protocols to ensure that all tasks are accomplished promptly, and errors are minimized. Establishes security procedures to protect against loss or pilferage of supplies and equipment. Performs other duties as assigned. Supervisory/Management Responsibilities This is a supervisor job which may have direct supervision of team members which may include hire/termination authority, disciplinary authority, and performance management responsibilities.May have budget input or responsibilities. Job is not considered a member of management staff. Minimum Requirements Education - High School diploma or equivalent or post-high school diploma / highest degree earned Experience - Seven (7) years of experience In Lieu Of NA Required Certifications, Registrations, Licenses NA Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Supervisionexperience and ability to lead.
