About the opportunity

The role of the Associate Technology Infrastructure Engineer is to coordinate and execute activities related to the SWCA technology infrastructure with the guidance of Infrastructure Engineers and Senior Infrastructure Engineers. This role will primarily be responsible for systems installation, administration, maintenance, updates, documentation, troubleshooting/repair, and optimization in SWCA's technology systems. Systems include cloud (90% Azure) servers and networks, Office 365 and Entra ID, office and end user compute systems and networks. This is a regular, benefits eligible, full time, salaried position, eligible for remote, hybrid, or in-office work within the U.S.

What you will accomplish

  • Executes technology initiatives to maintain and improve SWCA's enterprise infrastructure and associated project portfolio, including but not limited to cloud infrastructure management and evolution, virtualization and virtual desktop systems, backups, georedundant cloud infrastructure, mobility and remote access services, wireless networks, enterprise-scale messaging environments, active directory integration, WAN, LAN, software-defined internetworking, and innovative end user computing solutions
  • Solves incidents and problems to maintain the stability and high performance of SWCA systems
  • Provides hands-on expertise in solving Tier 2-3 technical problems and working with teams to develop long-term, scalable solutions
  • Creates and updates documentation, internal training, and support transition/ongoing improvement for enterprise systems
  • Complies with all SWCA and technology department policies and procedures, including those for equipment, hardware, software, security, access, and change management in conjunction with department leads and department-specific requirements

Experience and qualifications for success

Formal Education & Certification

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Administration, Systems Engineering, Cloud Technology, or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to provide Tier 2-3 Support
  • Must understand Azure systems design, management, and administration
  • Experience with Microsoft on-premise tools (AD, GPO, SCCM) and cloud tools (Entra, Intune)
  • Experience with automation such as Powershell and/or Python
Knowledge & Experience
  • 1-2 years work experience in cloud technology
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
  • Technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards
  • Background working with Windows Server and Azure

  • Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
  • Easily adaptable to rapidly shifting priorities based on business requirements.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills including the ability to document all work and explain complex infrastructure concepts to non-technical colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Customer service skills an asset.
Work Conditions
  • Must be willing and able to travel to SWCA offices and manage some off-hours changes/ implementations or on-call hours as needed. Up to 30% travel may be required for equipment and datacenter maintenance, lifecycle management/upgrades, and moves/adds/changes.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools, and to handle other computer components.
  • Occasional inspection of cables in floors and ceilings.
  • Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals.

An employee in this corporate based position can expect a pay rate of $70,761/year - $92,102/year. Actual pay within this range may depend on experience, qualifications, geographic location, client requirements where applicable, and other factors permitted by law. Regular-status employees are also eligible for performance bonuses.
