As a Portfolio Manager, Constructions Projects and Programs supporting Engineering and Facilities, you will provide capital project management services and coordinate the real estate portfolio for Alcon sites in North America under the leadership of the AFS Global Engineering Director in Fort Worth, TX. In this role, a typical day will include:
- Maintaining oversight of key design/construction projects and initiatives to ensure flawless execution and goal achievement. Collaborate closely with site leadership teams to drive project success.
- Managing capital projects up to $10M / $20M aggregate, ensuring strict adherence to project budgets and schedules.
- Coordinating operating expenses for the North America region real estate.
- Directing project budgets and reporting to Sr. Management.
- Establishing and maintaining schedules on major capital projects.
- Developing design and scope per customer requirements.
- Leading projects through the construction phase, controlling costs and change orders.
- Ensuring design and construction quality through reviews, site walks, and punch-outs.
- Assisting Alcon MTO sites and franchise engineering heads with CAPEX planning and CAR development.
- Owning the real estate portfolio for the region, including property searches, term negotiations, lease renewals, and portfolio optimization.
- Providing cost estimating support for project feasibility and justification.
- Resolving obstacles by partnering with site leadership to address misalignment and gaps inhibiting strategy, operations, and project execution.
- Collaborating with internal partners (e.g., Manufacturing Tech Ops, Finance, Procurement, Legal, Health/Safety, Commercial, R&D, Supply Chain, Quality, MS&T) to ensure alignment on projects and initiatives.
- What you'll bring to Alcon:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +13 yrs; Assoc.+9 yrs; M.S.+2 yrs; PhD+0 yrs)
- The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
- 5 Years of relevant experience

- Schedule: Mon-Fri: 8:00AM-5:00PM CST (May require occasional work during weekends and off-schedule hours due to business requirements)

- Preferred Qualifications/Skills/Experience
- Bachelor's in Construction Management or Engineering, ideally Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
- Proven experience in project management, change management and consulting
- Experience working in cross functional teams across multiple geographies
- Strong communication and influencing skills at all levels of the organization
- Proven analytical skills
