R&D Summer Intern-Electrical Engineer

Job Summary:

The Electrical Engineering Intern will work on a project to assess the feasibility of using Artificial Intelligence based optical inspection technology (machine vision) to characterize the surface topography measurements of large scale industrial belting products. The Intern will be directed by an R&D Manager and interact with both Electrical Engineers and Technicians on staff.

Safety and Procedures:



  • Follow all publicized safety policies/procedures and JIBS applicable to the job.
  • Use appropriate PPE that has been identified on the Hazard Analysis for the department/role.
  • Attend and participate in all safety training, safety meetings, audits and Behavior Based Safety programs assigned.
  • Report all safety hazards observed.If capable, correct the safety hazard identified.


Essential Job Functions:



  • Set up equipment and establish criteria for inspection on a lab scale.
  • Demonstrate feasibility of inspection on manufacturing scale products
  • Develop statistically valid criteria for characterizing overall uniformity of a product and for developing customer specifications.
  • Develop and deploy programming/code for machine vision, data analysis, and equipment integration

Education Requirements:

Actively working towards a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology (Junior or Senior standing preferred)
