Ecologist

As an Ecologist for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), you'll be part of a project team that helps our commercial, institutional, and energy clients navigate today's complex environmental regulatory landscape to achieve and maintain compliance with the Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, and related regulations.

You'll assist with waters (wetland and stream) delineations, prepare delineation reports, perform habitat assessments, and assist with preparing permit applications. This position affords a mix of field and office work, supplemented with training in the critical areas of technical expertise, data interpretation, financial management, and client development that are needed to grow into a complete consultant.

Qualifications

• B.S. (preferably a M.S.) degree in a natural sciences field (e.g., Biology, Environmental Sciences, Ecology);
• 0+ years' experience in performing and leading waters delineations and evaluations;
• Ability to lift 25-50lbs;
• Ability to work regularly in varying outdoor environments and perform tasks requiring physical activity, such as traversing rugged terrain;
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple project tasks;
• Experience with technical writing, data analysis, and report drafting; and
• 40-hour wetland delineation training and basic GIS/GPS mapping experience a plus.
