Reinsurance Claims Intern - Summer Intern

The Company

Munich Re America Services (MRAS) is a shared service organization that delivers services to all Munich Re US P&C Companies and other group entities.

The Opportunity

The Reinsurance Claims Intern will be shown how to interpret claims information and assist in the development of tools that will support claims and pricing areas. The intern will be provided tasks and responsibilities that provide them with experience in contributing a portion of larger projects as well as seeing some projects from beginning to end. They will be working on assignments for different members of the division and will learn to work with people at various levels in a collaborative work environment based on interdisciplinary teams contributing to common goals within a shared vision.

Responsibilities

  • Review Claim Bordereaux and prepare data templates for various clients that will be used to capture claims data into a database.
  • Assist Reinsurance North America Claims experts to review claim documents for determine if the claim is appropriately classified in the system with their respective special projects
  • Assist Reinsurance North America Claims team with their respective special projects
  • Assist Claims team with analyzing data from different sources for analysis and quality control
  • Participate in project to re-organize and streamline BRO Share Point Site.

Qualifications

  • Preferred major: Business, Law, Finance or Accounting
  • Grade Level: Rising junior or senior undergraduates
  • Work experience
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work with a team
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel - required
