Overview
Position: Linux System Engineer
Location: Albuquerque, NM
Salary Range: $107,400 - $117,400 per year
Clearance: Clearable to Q

KeyLogic is seeking a Linux System Engineer to support the client at a major National Laboratory in Albuquerque, NM. The client's organization is responsible and driven for providing customer focused, flexible, secure and proven network transport services to meet the mission IT needs. The services include DNS/DHCP Tier 0 services, Enterprise Logging Services, GPONG (Gigabit Passive Optical Network), wireless design and implementation, Optical Transport Services/ DWDM, Radio and Spectrum Management.

Work is 100% on-site.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include designing, building, integrating and other activities in both the classified and unclassified environments. The primary responsibility is to provide UNIX/Linux System Administration support for server systems that host critical applications and services. The role will also be expected to resolve new problems as the technologies are deployed that will require creative solutions and a variety of enterprise services.

  • Provide ongoing back-up/on-call pager rotation and support.
  • Hardware and software operating system maintenance, performance tuning, capacity planning, troubleshooting, and testing of operating systems and services.
  • Work in a team environment to develop strong working relationships with team members, customer groups and other teams in infrastructure computing, cyber security, and other outside government agencies.

Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in IT Field + 4 Years of relevant experience. In lieu of degree 7 years of job-related experience.
  • Must be a US Citizenship
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance at the DOE Q or Top Secret (TS) level.
  • Four years of experience in Networking to include DNS.

Required Skills:

  • 4 Years of experience supporting Linux (preferably RHEL).
  • Familiar with network communication protocols, and other related protocols.
  • Experience with scripting languages (Python, Perl, Bash)
  • Experience with web-based REST API's
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in effectively prioritizing and executing tasks in a constantly changing environment.
  • Ability to develop and nurture effective relationships internal and external to the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and perform work independently and, in a team environment.
  • Must be open to learning and supporting a wide variety of technologies.
  • Ability to work with vendors to acquire software, hardware, resolve issues, etc.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience support DNS (BIND, Infoblox)
  • Experience with IPV6
  • General knowledge of how the following infrastructure component's function switches, routers, firewalls, load balances, authentication.
  • Security + Certification.
