Elevator Technician - Kansas City, MO

As a part of our manufacturing group, you will be responsible for supporting production packaging and processing operations, sanitation and

participation in startup, changeover, and shutdown of operating equipment.

Shift hours:

• 8-hour shifts
  • 1st shift: 7 am to 3 pm Monday-Friday
• Ability and willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays
• Plant operation is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

Pay:

• $24.26 per hour starting
• Progressive pay increases
• $24.54 per hour, after full completion of required trainings (1.5 years on average)
• Shift differential
• Additional $.55 per hour for hours worked on 2nd shift and 3rd shift

About our Location:

The Kansas City plant provides job growth opportunities in most departments and promotes positive relationships throughout the facility, fostering a collaborative work environment and it has an employee club within the premises. The plant organizes holiday dinners for Christmas and Thanksgiving, where hams and turkeys are distributed to employees. Additionally, employees have the opportunity to attend various events such as Chiefs games, Royals games, dinner theaters, plays, and World of Fun visits, with some tickets provided to each employee.

  • Weighing and grading of inbound and outbound grain using computer and manual tools to measure and record results
  • Loading and unloading of trucks and railcars using approved tools and methods. Includes ascending and descending ladders on railcars, trucks,
  • loadout towers, platforms, etc.
  • Perform sanitation, cleaning and maintaining all grain elevator areas
  • Performing preventative and reactive maintenance activities on equipment and assistant maintenance as needed
  • Ability and willingness to cover open positions and learn all operations of elevator area
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives to increase platform performance
  • Assist in training new employees

What you have to offer:

• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED
• 1-2 years of machine operating experience
• At least 1-2 years of mechanical and/or technical experience in manufacturing or related industry preferred
• At least 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing/production environment preferred

Physical requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time including standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling and twisting over surfaces
• Ability to climb and/or work at heights while utilizing stairs, ladders, personnel lifts, or platforms
• Ability to wear protective clothing and equipment such as safety shoes, face masks, safety glasses, hearing protection, a hard hat, a hair/beard net and gloves when required
• Willing and able to adhere to all grooming requirements necessary for a food manufacturing environment
• Ability to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, wet environmental working conditions
• Willing to work around industrial high-speed moving machinery
• Ability to work with allergens that might be present in a food environment
