JOB TITLE: Scientific Laboratory Technician II

JOB SUMMARY Under general supervision, performs timely and accurate laboratory work on a range of standard experiments, maintenance of equipment, upkeep of the laboratory space, and other study-related tasks in compliance with the company and external regulatory guidelines, policies, and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

*Collects, processes, and analyzes biological laboratory samples using standard lab equipment/methods following established lab procedures

*Understands and follows safety and infection control standards

*Maintains accurate laboratory quality records and logs

*Executes GLP/Study protocols

*Records results of tests, organizes data, performs basic computations, and contributes to reports using standard procedures and guidelines

*Maintains and repairs laboratory test equipment. Interacts with external field support technicians.

*Performs lab maintenance and manages supplies

*Oversees laboratory equipment calibration system

*Installs, operates, and calibrates standard laboratory equipment (e.g., balances, pH meter, and pipettes)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education

Two-year technical degree or equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered in one of the following related fields: life science, physical science, hematology, or related discipline.

Experience

Minimum 2 years' experience in related field. (A+4, B+2 non-science degree)

  • Demonstrated ability to work with general direction
  • Mastery of basic lab skills
  • Ability to recognize unusual or unexpected results, and escalate issues, if necessary
  • Knowledge of laboratory supplies, maintenance, and calibration of equipment
  • Aptitude to understand and apply guidelines
  • Ability to follow regulatory requirements
  • Knowledge and use of relevant PC software applications and skills to use them effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Working knowledge of blood and blood components



An equivalent competency level acquired through a variation of these qualifications may be considered.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

General Labor Environment requirements include: use of personal protective equipment, reading, speaking, hearing, walking, bending, standing, stretching/reaching, hand/finger dexterity, and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds, or transporting up to 500 pounds via carts or mechanized equipment.

Target Pay Range:$24.00to$30.00- Hourly pay rateto be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data

Target Bonus on Base:7.0%
