BID/JOB ANNOUNCEMENT Public Health Nutritionist III Department Of Public Health (MICAH / WIC) Number of Positions: 2 (Additional vacancies possible pending budget approval) Starting Salary: $72,000 This position is open to the public and all current City employees covered under the City's collective bargaining agreement with AMERICAN FEDERATION OF STATE, COUNTY, AND MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES (AFSCME) - BARGAINING UNIT 1, 3, 4 & 5. Additional duties may be required for this position LOCATION: King Center 4314 S. Cottage Grove Chicago, 60653 Or Pilsen South Ashland 1713 S. Ashland Chicago, 60608 WORK SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. or 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. (depending on location) Some additional hours may be required in case of public health emergency. THIS POSITION IS IN THE CAREER SERVICE Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALFICATIONS Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree in Dietetics, Foods and Nutrition, or a directly related field, plus three years of work experience in public health nutrition or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience provided that the minimum education requirement is met. Licensure, Certification or Other Qualifications Registered Dietitian (RD) credential awarded by the Commission on Dietetic Registration. Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist (LDN). At the time of employment, positions must be a Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist (LDN) in the State of Illinois.
SELECTION REQUIREMENTS This position requires applicants to complete an interview which will include a written exercise and/or a skills assessment test as part of the interview. The interviewed candidate(s) possessing the qualifications best suited to fulfill the responsibilities of the position, based on the oral and written parts of the interview will be selected. Preference will be given to candidates possessing the following: * Previous experience working in a (WIC) Women Infants and Children's program. * Previous experience applying theories and principles of food and nutrition to include assessment, planning and counseling. * Previous experience with performance management and quality assurance * Previous experience managing and supervising staff. * Level of Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
