Working under the general supervision of Principal Investigator (or Research Manager), and in accordance with established hospital policies and procedures, conducts a variety of routine experiments where methodologies are clearly established. Calculates, transcribes, and analyzes data using basic statistics. May perform literature searches under direction of supervisor.
The Cichowski laboratory, a lab within BWH, Harvard Medical School, and the Dana-Farber Harvard Cancer Center, is searching for motivated individuals to fill a Research Assistant position. Our laboratory utilizes biochemical, cellular and mouse modeling approaches to elucidate mechanisms that drive cancer. We then use this insight to develop and test promising therapies with the goal of ultimately translating our findings to the clinic. This is a superb opportunity for someone who is interested in working in a cutting-edge, academic basic research setting on projects with high clinical relevance. This laboratory has a long tradition of integrating research assistants into all scientific aspects of the lab and mentoring them to achieve their career goals. As a Research Assistant you will be part of a preclinical discovery team and your responsibilities will include executing cell culture experiments, mouse colony management, administering therapeutic agents in vivo, and utilizing basic biochemical, molecular biology and imaging techniques to assess efficacy and elucidate mechanisms of action (western blotting, quantitative PCR, cloning, CRISPR editing, possibly ChiP-seq, RNA-seq). 1. Under general supervision, performs a variety of routine tests following established methodologies. Routine tests may include evaluation of protein expression levels by Western Blot, or gene expression by qRT-PCR. Qualifications
