Steel Press Operator

We are looking for a reliable and skilled Steel Press Operator to join our team at Johnson Controls. In this role, you will be responsible for the operation, setup, and maintenance of steel press machines to produce high-quality metal parts. You will be expected to operate mechanical presses, perform basic die changes, and ensure that production meets quality standards. $19+ $1.75/h shift differential

What You'll Do:

  • Set up and operate steel press machines (e.g., mechanical presses) for various production runs according to work orders and blueprints.

  • Perform basic die changes and machine adjustments to ensure proper function.

  • Inspect final products for compliance with quality standards, including dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and material integrity.

  • Maintain accurate records of machine settings, production counts, and quality checks.

  • Collaborate with production teams and maintenance staff to resolve any issues and ensure smooth operations.

  • Follow safety protocols and ensure a clean and safe working environment.

What We Look For:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • 3-6 months of prior experience as a press operator or in a similar manufacturing environment.

  • Basic understanding of press machine operation, die setup, and material handling.

  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic machine adjustments and troubleshooting.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Basic computer skills for production tracking and documentation.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to stand, bend, and work in a fast-paced environment for extended periods (8+ hours).

  • Willingness to work in an industrial environment with noise and varying temperatures.
