Cultural Resources Project Manager - Pacific Northwest U.S.

SWCA Environmental Consultants is seeking a Cultural Resources Project Manager to join our Pacific Northwest team. Our team of accomplished environmental and cultural resources scientists is growing, and we are looking for dynamic individuals who are following their passion in delivering the highest-quality cultural resources compliance services. You will be responsible for managing client, agency, and Tribe relationships through project management, supervising staff, successfully winning and executing projects, typically focused on archaeological investigation, and leading projects to completion.

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity reporting to our Portland, OR Cultural Resources Team Lead. This position can be worked remotely or hybrid supporting one of our Pacific Northwest offices (Corvallis, OR, Portland, OR, or Whitefish, MT). Candidates local to the subregion are strongly preferred.

This position will primarily be desktop based with less than 20% travel/fieldwork.

• Project implementation to include staffing, fieldwork, research, report writing, and Quality Assurance/ Quality Control (QA/QC) review.
• Provide technical expertise and staff mentoring.
• Maintain good working relationships with state and federal agency contacts and clients.
• Nurtures and develops client relationships.
• Collaborates with SWCA's team leads, directors, and principal investigators on technical and business development efforts throughout the company.
• Maintains SWCA's high standard of scientific ethics and quality assurance and is motivated to identify and resolve problems in creative ways.
• Takes responsibility for team safety, developing safety plans (when applicable), and anticipating potential safety hazards.
• Collaborate as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• Assists in the continuing development of SWCA's Cultural Resource Program and expands SWCA's professional reputation in cultural resources consulting and research throughout Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Alaska, and beyond.
• Drives compliance of safety policies and reporting requirements to ensure overall team safety.

• Minimum of a Master's degree in Archaeology or Anthropology required.
• At least seven (7) years of experience in cultural resources management (CRM) on a variety of project types, sizes, regions, and agencies, with increasing levels of responsibility, however applicants with less than 7 years of experience are encouraged to apply.
• At least one (1) year of experience managing cultural resources projects, preferably in a consulting environment. This includes cultural resources budgets, scheduling, and scopes of work.
• Must demonstrate completion of survey, testing, monitoring, and/or data recovery excavation projects involving archaeological investigations and preparation of final reports consistent with Oregon SHPO and other applicable agency standards for cultural resource reporting.
• Experienced in Pacific NW archaeology.
• Meets the Secretary of the Interior's Professional Qualifications Standards in archaeology.
• Have or willing to obtain the certification as Oregon SHPO Qualified Archaeologist.

An employee in this PNW U.S. based position can expect a salary of $77,395/year to $100,327/year. Actual pay within this range may depend on experience, qualifications, geographic location, client requirements where applicable, and other factors permitted by law. Regular-status employees are also eligible for performance bonuses.
