Position Description
As a Category Manager, Indirect Sourcing, your role will be to lead a portfolio of indirect suppliers in the development and implementation of strategic sourcing activities across the enterprise. You will execute the strategic sourcing process for assigned indirect categories by data gathering, identifying suppliers, quote preparation, supplier qualification, and gap analysis to make robust decisions regarding supplier selection and sourcing needs. You will develop indirect category sourcing strategies and manage supplier relationships and performance as well as lead cost reduction for assigned categories. #LI-LB1 #LB-Hybrid #LI-LB1
You will do this by:
Evaluatingbroad purchasing practices, quotingand reviewingcost/price and value analysis to select, reviews alternative suppliers to drive indirect cost reduction Buildingand manages high level supplier relationships: communicatingsupplier performance & gaps to goals, and outliningimprovement to ensure business objectives and investment returns are met Ensuringsupplier training for relevant processes and procedures Establishingand managingstrategic sourcing goals and metrics for cost reduction, supplier performance, and sourcing decisions. Researchingand evaluatingthe benefits of indirect contracts, open-market purchases and out-sourcing Negotiating, writingand verifying legal issues of supply agreements Recommendingand implementingchanges in processes or procedures for assigned areas Defining, resolving, and providingpermanent solutions to systemic supplier performance issues. Leadingcontinuous cost reduction / value improvement activity by developing and executing projects, competitively quoting, conducting negotiations, and developing/executing cost models. Developingand implements communication plans to key stakeholders. Performingother duties as assigned
You are the type of person who is/has:
Comprehensive knowledge of indirect strategic sourcing and supply strategies, purchasing function concepts and of supplier category processes and practices Strong written and verbal communication skills for report writing, presentations and interactions with diverse groups of people inside and outside of the corporation Proficiency with SAP Ability to work in a team environment and to build and manage business relationships Ability to lead sophisticated partnership arrangements Strong knowledge of indirect supply processes and component applications, Statistical Process Control and other significant quality management techniques Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management or related field, or equivalent education and experience
