DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsible for operational and fiscal management, including annual budgeting, monitoring workload standards, productivity reports, profit and loss statements, employee engagement and patient satisfaction for acute care pharmacy services.

Develop strategic plan focused on sustainable outcomes, and delegate and monitor departmental goals, objectives, and programs.

Develop and recommend changes and innovations for improving existing workflow process, service offerings, and advancement of pharmacy practice. Interview, select, hire, train, evaluate, coach and develop supervisory and support pharmacy personnel.

Oversee drug inventory control and develop quality control standards.

Monitor product usage and change to reduce cost, alleviate waste, and promote proper effective utilization of supplies and drugs.

Responsible for loss prevention, quality control strategies, resource allocation, and ensuring accurate and cost-effective use of resources.

Accountable for maintaining compliance with all federal and state regulations and standards, including creation and enforcement of policies and procedures, working standards, mandatory reporting, and maintenance of department certifications, licenses, and accreditation.

Perform duties of Pharmacist as needed and other duties as required.

May complete unit/department specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents.

Five (5) years of experience in the acute care pharmacy setting. Three (3) years of supervisory or pharmacy management experience. Pharmacist licensure by the Missouri Board of Pharmacy.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Completion of PGY1 pharmacy residency. Post-graduate study in pharmacy, MBA, or MHA. Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
